4D v14 is here

For 4D-Partners and maintenance contracts

Since last week 4D v14 is available for 4D Partners and customers with a maintenance contract. The public release will follow beginning of 2014 (January/February, around).

It’s a kind of interesting move of 4D, it shows a kind of relevance for the partners and maintenace contracts. If they’d put the hotfixes into the maintenance bundle, that would finalize a contract for most (at least of mine) installations.

The customers I’ve contacted have shown the highest interest into the newly supported SQL Views in 4D. It will lower the burden for connections with, let’s say, Crystal Reports. Just set it and “done” (mostly).

So far, the feedback from developers using it is: “….most stable .0 release ever” and “…blazingly fast!” – I’m not allowed to play with before x-max, I need to get my hands dirty with the rescue and conversion of 4D v3.5 and v6.8 databases first.
